Discovering Membership
Only a few decades ago, officially joining your church was a crucial step in church membership. Back then, most churches still provided annual printed booklets as the church members’ directory. These large booklets were filled with names, phone numbers, and a proud family photo taken by the church. Today, "membership" looks a lot different, but the principle remains an important step in any Christian's faith journey.
Since we have visitors from many different church backgrounds, Stonebrooke's Discovery Class was designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. Furthermore, it exists to help believers become fully devoted followers of Christ.
There are four courses within Stonebrooke Church's Discovery Class:
Discovery 101 – Knowing Christ & Belonging
Discovery 101 is the starting point for your journey at Stonebrooke Church. This class is designed to help you understand the message of the gospel, discover what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and learn what it truly means to belong to a church family. You’ll explore salvation, the mission and values of Stonebrooke, and how membership connects you to God’s purpose and community.
Discovery 201 – Growing in Spiritual Maturity
Discovery 201 focuses on helping believers grow deeper in their walk with Christ. This course teaches the spiritual habits, disciplines, and biblical foundations that lead to a strong, healthy, and growing faith. You’ll learn how to develop a consistent prayer life, understand God’s Word, follow the Holy Spirit, and live a life that reflects Christ in everyday decisions.
Discovery 301 – Equipped for Ministry
Discovery 301 is all about discovering your God-given purpose and learning how to serve effectively. This class helps you identify your spiritual gifts, passions, and abilities, and shows you how God can use them to make a difference in the church and the world. You’ll be equipped with practical tools and ministry skills to serve confidently and faithfully in the body of Christ.
Discovery 401 – Sharing Christ with the World
Discovery 401 prepares and empowers believers to live on mission. This course trains you to confidently share your faith, understand your role in God’s global mission, and live as a witness for Christ in your everyday life. You’ll learn how to communicate the gospel clearly, build relationships with purpose, and take part in reaching others with the love and truth of Jesus.
